Southern Bay Brewing Co. have appointed a new Head Brewer, Kyle Trammell.
Kyle, originally from Utah, USA has a wealth of experience from other US and Australian Breweries and will help guide Southern Bay Brewery onto greater heights. Kyle will take charge of the Brewing, Production and Packaging of all of beers
Kyle has worked at Bohemian Brewery (Midvale, Utah) , Red Rock Brewery (Salt Lake City, Utah) and helped set up New England Brewing Co. (Uralla, NSW). He has been involved in the production of many award-winning beers. Kyle also has gained a good knowledge of plant and equipment in both Brewing and Packaging. Kyle is also a certified Cicerone.
Kyle has also been a beer editor and worked in Home Brewing Supplies. He has also an artistic flair working as a designer and creating various forms of art as a job and now as a hobby. Kyle has seen first hand what has happened in the craft beer scene in the USA which will give us further insight into the developing Australian market.
Kyle is a great addition to the Brew House and be able to work to make Southern Bay a market force in craft brewing in 2013 and beyond.

Hot on the heels of Metalhead Robust Porter, the darkest and booziest beer to spill out of Geelong’s Southern Bay Brewing Co, is the companies second-ever seasonal release: Hop Bazooka IPA.
Hop Bazooka is an American style India pale ale, meaning it is bursting with resinous hop flavour and aroma that often strikes the senses with layers of tropical fruit and passionfruit. Perfect for cutting thirst on a warming spring afternoon, this brew is best consumed fresh. No worries there as it will be brewed often!
Southern Bay’s head brewer, Steve “Hendo” Henderson will be presenting Hop Bazooka to the world via a launch party at The Alehouse Project in Brunswick East on October 18th. Here punters will have a chance to taste the range of beers from Southern Bay for free from 6pm to 7pm. The brewing team will also be available for a chat and have decided to bring in the last existing keg of this winters one-off limited release, a bourbon vanilla infused version of Metalhead Robust Porter.

Southern Bay Craft Beers Launched
Southern Bay Brew Co in Moolap celebrated the release of the first two genuine craft beers.
The launch of the new beers was held at in Melbourne, Geelong and Ballarat. It included free tastings of the entire Southern Bay line of beers.

Southern Bay brewed Beers once again accounted for many Silver and Bronze medals at the 2012 Beer Awards. Both Southern Bay Branded Beers and Our customers contract brewed lagers and ales received Silver and Bronze medals for their beers which were presented to a panel of Australian and International judges.

Southern Ocean Ale - SILVER and BRONZE
Sunrise Breakfast Beer - BRONZE
Ranga Premium Red Ale - SILVER
Our current list of contract produced beers also received many Silver and Bronze awards. We are delighted that our keg and bottle products fared so well and are looking forward to next years awards.
We all encourage responsible drinking and we believe a finely crafted beer should be enjoyed for its aroma, taste and appearance. There’s nothing better than having a good beer with friends. Lucky we make so many good beers to help this happen.
